First off, I want to thank the many people who took the time to wish me a happy birthday. It is truly amazing how so many people, from all over the world, can connect with one another. Well, I had a great birthday and an awesome year. As I do every year, I am spending my birthday on a lake at a cabin that's been in my family for nearly three decades. I awoke to the smell of bacon and blueberry pancakes cooking on the old-fashioned stove, and the sound of coffee percolating. I had a wonderful day relaxing by the beautiful lake. Tonight, I am going fishing, and I plan to top the night off with a piece of carrot cake and a movie. Talk about a vacation!!!
Since my last birthday, I got to meet my role model, Sarah Palin, face-to-face for the first time in Reno at her book signing- VIP status and all. As if that was not enough, I was lucky enough to be chosen to be a contestant on America's #1 game show, Wheel of Fortune, last year. This past January, I taped my episode. It aired in April, and even though I did not win, I had a blast. It was an honor just to be selected. Over six million people fill out applications, and out of that six million, fewer than 600 people are chosen to be contestants. WOW! The Lord has blessed me so much, and part of his blessings came in the form of giving me the opportunity to travel to Alaska. This trip was a once-in-the-lifetime journey, and the memories I have will last me forever.
Since my last birthday, I have met so many amazing people. People like Sarah and Todd Palin, Chuck and Sally Heath, Tracey and Tony Porreca, Camille Friend, Kristina Lazzaro, Shelia Hanson, Kenton Lodwick, Carol Ryan, Ivy Frye, J and Bev Perdew, Jessica Steel, Eddie, Linda, Candice, Terrin, Ericka, Eddie Junior and Brandy Burke; Mark, Carol at the Lake Lucille B & B, and even the awesome Tammy Bruce! There are so many other amazing people that I have failed to mention, so to all of you, thanks for making my year so great! Yep, this year has been pretty eventful, and I cannot wait to see what next year will bring. Again, thanks so much to all of my readers for helping to make this blog the popular blog that it is.
